AFRICA: A BIG DEAL?
Many things about Africa is a big deal (aside from the fact that I was born there). It’s the second largest continent in the world (after Asia), with 55 states and is home to the largest desert*, as well as having the longest river*, which flows through 9 countries in the continent. The fastest, tallest and largest land animals as well as the world’s largest primate* are all from Africa.
If you are a tree-hugger or love animals and wildlife, or have ever donated or currently donate £3 a month to WWF (not the wrestling show), this is the continent you should visit. I must admit, I probably took a lot of the safaris for granted as a child, as I remember sleeping through some. If I think about it now, how often do six-year olds get to pat lion cubs (not drugged), play with baby elephants or watch giraffes cross the road on the way to school? It's like another world.
Below are some my favourite photos from Africa. A place I will always call home.
*Sahara desert; River Nile; Cheetah; Giraffe; African Elephant; Gorilla.
Visited: Kenya (pictured); Uganda; Tanzania (Moshi/Kilimanjaro) & Zanzibar (pictured); Nigeria; Mauritius; South Africa; Morocco (pictured), Botswana (pictured), Zimbabwe (pictured), Namibia
Wishlist: Madagascar; Seychelles; Maldives; Egypt; Gambia; Mozambique.

Me and three friends decided that we really wanted to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point of Africa.
From preparation to getting on a plane, to walking up for four days to base camp, attempting summit and then returning home in one piece, here are the highlights...

Every now and then I need a break from life in the City of London (as much as I love it). And what better place to go to than Africa to get back in touch with nature and wildlife? Follow my journey in tents, mokoros and a big purple bus through Botswana: a place that has the most adorable people and elephants...
CITY EDIT: NAIROBI
As one of the few, if not the only capital city that serves both humans and wildlife to almost equal importance, Nairobi: the capital of Kenya, is a must visit. From animal orphanages, to National Parks, hidden bars, shopping malls and Maasai markets... and of course friendly Kenyans, you'll get all this and more.
AFRICA NOT FOR YOU? HAKUNA MATATA. CHECK THESE OUT...
